Mission Frontline: Rohit Shetty gets a taste of the commando life in his OTT debut

The Discovery+ show features stars like Sara Ali Khan and Rana Daggubatti

After successfully scripting several high-octane action flicks that have set the silver screen on fire, Rohit Shetty is looking to channel the action hero within himself on OTT. He is all set to make his debut on the platform. In the latest episode of the Discovery Plus show Mission Frontline, Rohit will be seen spending a day with Special Operations Group officers in Kashmir.

He shared a promo for the upcoming episode on his official Instagram handle. In the 30 second clip, viewers can see the filmmaker as he goes through all the gruelling challenges the commandos have to go through during the course of their duties. From being a part of operations to bust suspects to firearm and combat training, he goes through it all to gain some valuable insight into the daily life of a commando. In the video, Rohit also talks about how the police officers risk their lives every day for safeguarding the sovereignty of our nation.

Rohit Shetty is not the first celebrity to put himself in the shoes of India’s protectors. Earlier, Sara Ali Khan and Rana Daggubatti had also appeared in the series. Sara had spent time with the Veerangana Force, India’s first female commando unit, in Assam. Rana, on the other hand, had joined the country’s Border Security Force in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Rohit’s episode was shot in Kashmir. According to a report in Koimoi, series director Kunal Kochhar had earlier talked about how the filmmaker seemed to be the perfect fit for the show as many of his films dealt with themes of patriotism and valour in the face of danger.

Mission Frontline with Rohit Shetty will be available to stream on Discovery Plus from January 20.
