Missing, the thriller, starring newcomer Harsha Narra and Misha Narang in lead roles, enjoyed a brief theatrical run across Telugu states in 2021 and earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences. It has taken many months for the film to arrive on OTT. Telugu, Tamil OTT platform aha acquired its post-theatrical digital rights and premiered the film on the streamer this weekend.
Directed by Srini Josyula, the film also featured Chatrapathi Shekar, Ram Dutt in key characters. Bhaskar Josyula, Lakshmi Seshagiri Rao Narra bankrolled the film under Bajarangabali Creations. Ajay Arasada scored the music (both the songs and the background score) for the thriller. Janna cranked the camera for the project edited by Satya G. Daara Ramesh Babu was the art director.
The story takes when a road mishap messes with the lives of Gautham and Shruti, a happily married couple. While Gautham ends up at a hospital and gains consciousness only a couple of days after the incident, Shruti is nowhere to be seen. Gautham still has his share of doubts about the mysterious nature of the accident and restlessly tries to trace Shruti's whereabouts.
Gautham also takes the help of his brother-in-law Teja and his friend to find Shruti. ACP Tyagi, who's handling the case, is puzzled by the absence of any clues that may lead him to Shruti. Another television journalist Meena too is doing her part to find answers. Upon release, many claimed the filmmaker wanted to pay a tribute to director Shankar, Vikram’s iconic vigilante drama Aparichitudu.
The songs in the film were choreographed by Bangaru Raju , Jeethu while Srini Josyula handled the montages and visualisation. Wasitsa Sharma , Kittu Visspragada , Srini Josyula wrote the lyrics for the songs. Missing is filled with several twists and turns, where the second hour is particularly gripping and the ending too doesn’t disappoint.
