Not many gave Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, the Anushka Shetty, Naveen Polishetty starrer a chance to perform well at the box office prior to its release. Despite Naveen’s extensive promotional tours, there was barely any buzz for the film owing to multiple release date postponements and they were competing with a potential monster like Jawan on September 7.

Yet, the film did the unthinkable, performing exceedingly well in the US, grossing over $ 2 million and registering an impressive total in Telugu states as well. The theatrical run of the entertainer is more or less over and it is now gearing up for its OTT premiere next weekend. Netflix acquired its post-theatrical streaming rights and has announced the digital release date today.

“When a chef and a comic team up, you know they’re cooking something hilarious! Miss Shetty Mr PoliShetty is coming to Netflix on October 5th in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi,” Netflix shared across its social media handles this noon. Murali Sharma, Jayasudha, Abhinav Gomatam essayed other key roles in the film written and directed by Mahesh Babu P.

The story of the film revolves around a woman, who’s reluctant about the idea of marriage, expressing her readiness to give birth to a baby minus the baggage of a husband. She bumps into a right man for the job - a struggling standup comedian. Over time, they turn good friends and even begin to like one another. Where’s the tale headed?

Radhan composed the songs while Gopi Sundar worked on the background score for the film. Vamsi and Pramod produced the dramedy under UV Creations. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao edited the film while Rajeevan is the production designer. Naveen, the four-film old actor, has signed three Telugu films after Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, which will be made official soon.
