Successes and failures are two sides of the same coin, at least in the film industry. But in some cases like that of Mishan Impossible, you genuinely hope for a film to click at the theatres. The film, written and directed by Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya filmmaker Swaroop RSJ, featured Taapsee Pannu, Harsh Roshan, Bhanuprakash and Jayateertha in key roles. Produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy under Matinee Entertainment, the thriller comedy came with a promise of delivering a rare children's film in Telugu but it didn't exactly set the cash registers ringing.

Mishan Impossible is gearing up for its OTT premiere later this week on Netflix (on April 29) and this is the best chance for the film to get its due. In an industry where the film's worth is judged merely by its commercial success, the streaming platforms have turned out to be a boon for small-budgeted projects. In that context, it's extremely important that films like Mishan Impossible get the audience they richly deserve.

The kids in the film are on a 'mishan' to catch Dawood Ibrahim in Mumbai, but mistakenly end up in Bengaluru and get caught by a group of child traffickers. The story is about how an activist (played by Taapsee Pannu) comes to the rescue of the trio. Despite dealing with a theme as serious as child trafficking, Mishan Impossible maintains a terrific balance between its comedy portions and thrills. While the first hour is more or less an exploration of its three happy-go-lucky protagonists, the second hour gathers steam when the children adopt innovative tactics to keep a group of child traffickers at bay.

One of the main disadvantages of Mishan Impossible was its release timing on April 1, barely a week after the box-office tsunami called 'RRR' rocked the theatres. Despite a major star like Chiranjeevi coming forward to promote the film, Mishan Impossible couldn't draw crowds to theatres. With a global platform like Netflix, Mishan Impossible has a good chance of impressing audiences beyond language barriers. The presence of Taapsee Pannu is another added advantage too.
