Munna Bhaiya’s return to Mirzapur season 3 has become the biggest question in India and Divyenndu is now answering.
Now that Amazon Prime Video has confirmed the release year of Mirzapur season 3 in their 2024 slate announcement, fans are free to be excited as much as they want again, and they indeed are. Everyone is curious to know when the new season drops and the entire page of the streamer is filled with comments asking for a date when the show will release on the platform. While the makers are not announcing one at the moment, what is under the spotlight at the moment is Munna Bhaiya played by Divyenndu. The character that died at the end of season 2 has become the talk of the town, and the question is simple, does he return? The actor himself is now talking.
Whether Munna Bhaiya is alive or not has become a massive mystery for the fans of the show and the actor. The topic got the limelight in the past few days as many revelations about the show have been making headlines. Even producer Ritesh Sidhwani had something to say about it. But while we were all excited for Munna’s return after Amazon Prime Video’s hint yesterday, Divyenndu has now broken hearts with his revelation, and according to him, Munna doesn’t return to Mirzapur for season 3, and he is over the character.
In his conversation with Humans Of Bombay, Divyenndu has now put all the buzz around his return to Mirzapur season 3 to rest. The actor has confirmed that he is not returning to the show and Munna Bhaiya was killed in the final episode of Mirzapur Season 2. However, one should also look at this as a probable part of the NDA, and the actor just might be hiding the secret well. Because all this while reports have been treating his comeback like a big surprise and the makers and team certainly don’t want it to be spoiled.
Divyenndu while talking about the same also added how Munna Bhaiya was a really troubled soul for him. He also said how he was sure Mirzapur would become an iconic show because the script was a banger. But he also made a shocking revelation when he said that the makers didn’t approach him to play Munna Bhaiya first. The actor was approached to play Babloo played by Vikrant Massey. But sometime later the makers felt the actor was well suited for Munna and finalized him for the part.
However, it was yesterday when Amazon Prime Video on their official Instagram handle shared a post that has Munna Bhaiya’s still from Mirzapur with his popular dialogue written over it. The dialogue read, “Hindi Phillam Ke Hero Hain Hum. Humein Koi Nahi Maar Sakta.” This was enough for us to think that the streamer is indeed hinting at the return of Divyenndu. For the unversed, Munna Bhaiya was shot dead in the shootout that happened by the end of Mirzapur Season 2. Kaleen Bhaiya, however, was rescued and wounded.
