Sanjay Gupta’s next film Miranda Boys, which stars Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jaaferi, is nearing completion.

According to entertainment portal Pinkvilla, there are only a few small elements of the sports drama to finalised before the cast calls it a wrap. Miranda Boys went on the floors in March this year in Goa and was shot there over a period of 25 days.

Pinkvilla states that the last scenes will be shot shortly, since Sanjay has already begun post-production on the film.

While there have been rumors that Miranda Boys is a straight-up sports drama, nothing more is known about the plot. Reportedly, the movie will centre around two brothers who select the opposite sides of the professional football world.

A source close to the movie compared it to “quintessential dramatic films.”

Besides the two main leads, Sahher Bambba also stars in a pivotal role. In February, it was reported that Mouni Roy was attached to the film but she was dropped after the makers decided to cast a fresh face opposite Harshvardhan.

Miranda Boys is Meezaan’s third on screen outing after his 2019 debut Malaal (available on Netflix), followed by Hungama 2 (available on Disney+ Hotstar). Meanwhile, Harshvardhan has been a prominent face in the South Indian industry and made his Hindi debut in 2016 with Sanam Teri Kasam. He also starred in the Taapsee Pannu-led thriller Haseen Dillruba (available on Netflix).

Sanjay is known for films such as Aatish Kaante, Kaabil, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Shootout at Wadala, Jazbaa and Zinda, to name a few.

In addition to Miranda Boys the director is working on the third installment of his Shootout franchise, which he plans to start shooting soon. With T-Series boss Bhushan Kumar, he is also creating Visfot, a horror film with Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan.
