Minions: The Rise of Gru's release had been delayed for over two years now.
Minions are back and this time, it’s double the fun with Steve Carell’s addition to the film. Most popular as the loveable boss Michael from The Office, Steve has now given voice to the lead character of Minions: The Rise of Gru. He voices the lead character Gru, who aims to become a ‘super villain’.
Gru embarks on a ‘super villainous’ journey with his minion friends in order to become a part of his favourite gang – The Vicious 6. Helping Gru this time are Kevin, Stuart, Bob and a new minion Otto.
Watch the trailer here:
In order to become ‘villainous’, Gru does petty acts like leaving fart smells in a houseful theatre. He also sprays people in order to turn into a villain and be noticed as well as be accepted by Vicious 6.
Gru approaches Vicious 6’s leader Wild Knuckles and his wild journey actually begins from there. Alan Arkin has voiced Wild Knuckles.
After Gru’s attempt, he gets kidnapped by the ‘vicious’ people. The minions then get at work to save their favourite person in the whole world, Gru.
He gets kidnapped and taken to China, amidst a group of fighters. Thus, the minions also train in kung fu and martial arts but being how they are, can these cute babies succeed?
Of course, the trailer has moments that will make you laugh and win your heart at the same time. There is also some action for the people who love that genre. This action begins once the ‘minions assemble’.
Minions: The Rise of Gru releases in US on July 1. The Indian release date for this film, which has been delayed for two years already, is yet to be announced.
