Popular Hindi actor Mithun Chakraborty is well-known face among Telugu audiences and his appearance in Venkatesh-Pawan Kalyan starrer Gopala Gopala continues to draw appreciation many years after its release as well. Now, the star’s son, Mimoh Chakraborty, too, is all set to test waters in Telugu cinema with a crime drama Nenekkadunna, written and directed by Madhav Kodad.

Sasha Chettri plays the female lead in the gangster saga revolving around the kidnapping of a freelance journalist Jhansi, who’s forthright with her stance. KBR is presenting the film while Maruthi Shyam Prasad Reddy is bankrolling the project under Ajagava Arts. The film’s title, poster and the teaser were unveiled by producer Suresh Babu in the presence of the makers today.

Heaping praise on the team for their efforts, Suresh Babu wished them the best ahead of its release. The teaser showcases the plight of a kidnapped journalist and how Mimoh goes to any length to rescue her. Several popular faces like Murali Sharma, Mahesh Manjrekar, Pradeep Rawat, Abhimanyu Singh, Bramhanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Posani, Rahul Dev, Milind Gunaji, Sayaji Shinde and Mihirah form the supporting cast.

In a statement, the maker Madhav Kodad stated the film will reflect the connection between journalism and politics and drive the story forward. He expressed his excitement to be launching Mimoh to Telugu cinema with Nenekkadunna. The film’s shoot has been wrapped up already and the unit is yet to finalise the release date

Nenekkadunna was shot across Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru and the team is ready with the first copy already. The censor screening is expected to be held soon. A pub song choreographed by Prem Rakshith with Russian dancers promises to be a major attraction for the film. Jayapal Nimmala cranks the camera while Shekar Chandra has composed the songs.
