First look at Midsummer Night, ahead of its OTT release

Midsummer Night is created and directed by Per-Olav Sorensen of The Playlist and Home for Christmas fame. He also wrote the screenplay along with Sofie Forsman from Young Royals, Tove Forsman of Barracuda Queens, and Anna Fredrikke Bjerke of Gemini. The Norwegian dramedy limited series has been shot in Oslo and is slated for a summer OTT release.

Midsummer Night will stream on Netflix April 11, 2024, onward. Starring an ensemble Norwegian and Swedish cast, the film maintains authenticity in terms of characters and locale. Midsummer Night will feature Pernilla August, Kim Falk, Dennis Storhoi, Amalia Holm, Linn Skaber, Sofia Tjelta, Christopher Wollter, Peiman Azizpour, Fanny Klefelt, Eirik Hallert, Maria Agwumaro, Kadir Talabani, and Liv Osa in prominent roles.

The series has not released any trailer yet but has revealed the basic premise. It is midsummer, the longest day of the year. Of course, there is going to be a party, a big family get together and frolicking together to celebrate the warmth and resurgence of life. Romance is in the air as well. But it is also the day Carina and Johannes are going to tell their friends and family a massive secret, one that may have unforeseen consequences.
