Midhun Manuel Thomas: ‘Story of Mammootty’s Turbo is not the same as Jayasurya’s Turbo Peter’
In a chat with Club FM 94.3 recently, the Anjaam Paathira fame writer revealed that the Mammootty starrer is going to be an action comedy, the script of which was first narrated to Vysakh. “The director was introduced to me by editor Shameer Muhammed, who asked me if I could write a script for Vysakh. Later, Vysakh and I had a conversation, getting to know each other. I suggested a few scripts I had on hand. While discussing a suitable project, I proposed an action film script to him. He liked it and we proceeded to present the script to Mammooka. He, too, was ready to sign the project, and things began from there”, the writer elaborated.

When asked if the Jayasurya-starrer Turbo Peter is revamped as Mommootty’s Turbo, Midhun replied, “No, they are two different scripts. We only borrowed the name Turbo from the first script. Details about the script of Jayasurya’s Turbo Peter will be revealed after the release of Turbo.”
Turbo’s first poster thrills fans
The first poster of Mammootty’s Turbo featured a striking punch, which piqued fans’ interest. Back in 2018, Midhun announced his collaboration with actor Jayasurya for Turbo Peter, which was scheduled to commence shooting in 2019. However, the production of the film did not materialise, leading the duo to shift their plans and consider working together on Aadu 3. The upcoming film, Turbo, will be distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s production house, Wayfarer Films.
