Mid-year special: Maharashtra Shahir beats Vaalvi, Ghar Banduk Biryani to be most loved Marathi film in 2023 so far

Ankush Choudhary’s Maharashtra Shahir is the most loved Marathi film of 2023. The film has managed to beat Vaali as well as Ghar Banduk Biryani, which have been one of the most-spoken-about films of 2023.

Ormax Media has unveiled the list of the top Marathi films of 2023. This is for films that have released till June.

The women-centric film Baipan Bhari Deva is the second most loved Marathi film of the year. The Kedar Shinde directorial is about six estranged strangers who have to overcome their past and face their struggles.

Ravrambha is a period romance film helmed by Anup Jagdale. The movie features Monalisa Bagal and Om Bhutkar in the lead roles. They play the roles of Rambha and Ravji respectively. It is the third most loved.

Vaalvi features Swwapnil Joshi in the lead role with Shivani Surve. The movie also stars Anita Date-Kelkar and Subodh Bhave in pivotal roles. The film is the fourth most loved.

Ghar Banduk Biryani, helmed by Nagraj Manjule, is the fifth most loved. He featured in the film with Akash Thosar and Sayaji Shinde in the lead roles.

Interestingly, Riteish Deshmukh’s Ved did not even make it to the list. The film was the most loved movie and released in December 2022. The movie released in theatres in 2022 but started streaming on OTT only recently.
