Mid-year special: Gippy Grewal-Sonam Bajwa’s Carry On Jatta 3 becomes the most loved Punjabi film of 2023

Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa’s Punjabi film Carry On Jatta 3 is the most loved Punjabi film so far. The movie released in the first half of 2023 and has received immense love, more than any Punjabi film released in the year so far. Carry On Jatta is a popular franchise in Pollywood and the third installment of the film has received as much love as the previous two. It was even promoted on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss OTT 2 recently.

Thus, Ormax Media has revealed that the film has become the most loved Punjabi movie of 2023. The list released is from January-June 2023 releases in the industry.

Neeru Bajwa’s Kali Jotta is the second most loved movie of the year. The movie also featured Satinder Sartaaj and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film was lauded for Neeru’s acting prowess.

Diljit Dosanjh’s latest release Jodi has also made it to the list. The film is set in the 1980s musical era and stars Nimrat Khaira as the female lead. Jodi is the third most loved movie of the year.

Godday Godday Chaa, featuring Sonam in the lead role, also made it to the top five list. The film was also about breaking stereotypes. Set in 1990s, Godday Godday Chaa is a film about Rani (Sonam Bajwa) who intends to bring about a change for women. She wants to change the ritual of women not being allowed to participate in the baaraat and the groom’s mother not being allowed to attend his pheras.

The fun film Lehmberginni, which maked Mahira Sharma’s debut in the Punjabi industry, is last on the list. Starring Ranjit Bawa as the male lead, the movie is about Lehmber, who changes after moving to London and falling in love with Ginni. That is when she leaves him.
