Netflix's The Witcher prequel series has a new addition to its ensemble cast. Veteran actor Michelle Yeoh will be joining the cast. She will be seen in the role of Scian in the show. Laurence O’Fuarain had been previously confirmed as a cast member for The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Michelle's character Scian is the last of her nomadic tribe of sword elves. When it comes to her artistry, nobody can match her skills with the blade and loss in their hearts. Scian will be seen taking on a deadly quest to retrieve a sacred sword stolen from her tribe by notorious means. The result of this quest can change the outcome of the continent.

The prequel series to The Witcher is a six-episode limited series set 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. The Witcher: Blood Origin will showcase the journey of the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the consequential events that lead to the merger of the spheres when the different worlds of monsters, men and elves become one.

Yeoh will be joining the cast alongside Laurence O’Fuarain who will be portraying the role of Fjall. O’Fuarain's character in the show is from the clan of warriors whose duty is to protect the king with Fjall carrying on the baggage of the death of a loved one while trying to save him. On a journey towards redemption, Fjall teams up with the most unlikely allies as he sets on vengeance through a continent in chaos.

Michelle Yeoh is known for her portrayal of the family matriarch Eleanor Young in John Chu's popular movie, Crazy Rich Asians, which is available to stream on Netflix. She will also be seen in the upcoming Marvel movie Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, where she takes up the role of Jiang Nan.
