Meyebela: Channel and production house at loggerheads over ending the show

The conflict between the channel and the production house regarding the serial Meyebela is at its peak. Meyebela is losing its 7.30 pm slot just five months after its start. Sandhyatara will replace it in this slot, which was announced by Star Jalsha seven days back. From then on, Meyebela’s future has been uncertain, and it is also speculated that the serial might end.

Social media is flooded with this speculation. Several meetings failed to provide any solution. There are only two days in hand. The pace and pattern by which the story is going forward make it impossible to have a satisfactory conclusion by Sunday. The shooting is also on. Star Jalsha does not want to end the serial, according to a source. But they don’t want to keep this in a prime slot. But the production house is determined not to run the big budget show in an afternoon, early evening, or midnight slot. Surinder Films had several meetings with Star Jalsha but to no avail. One member of the Meyebela family was contacted, who said that they did not get any official notice that the serial would end. Everyone keeps mum.

However, the official website of Disney Star already announced the new slot. The website has a channel guide for the next week for all serials of Star. It shows Meyebela will be telecast at the 5 PM slot, starting on June 12. It was already discussed before.

But then why is Star Jalsha not announcing this on TV or social media? The production house did not yet give a green signal. It is clear the Meyebela will not run for many days, even if it does not end on June 11. However, it did well in the TRP list. It increased the TRP by 1.1 points from last week and scored 5.3.
