Arun Kaundinya and ML Gayathri have sung the number composed by Sai Kartheek and lyricised by Balaji
Kiran Abbavaram, who had a promising start to his career with hits like Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru and SR Kalyana Mandapam, faced a flurry of failures in 2022. Many addressed him as a one-hit wonder soon and even wrote him off. However, he proved his odds wrong with Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha this year and is hoping to sustain this momentum with Meter, set to hit screens on April 7.
Athulyaa Ravi plays the female lead in Meter, written and directed by Ramesh Kaduri. Produced by Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu under Clap Entertainment and Mythri Movie Makers, the teaser made the right noises among viewers and industry circles recently. The first single from the film, Chammak Chammak Pori, was unveiled on Wednesday.
Chammak Chammak Pori is a trademark energetic dance number you expect from a full-on mass film like Meter. Sai Kartheek composes the music for the film while Arun Kaundinya and ML Gayathri have crooned for the number. Written by Balaji, the song doesn’t aim too high with its lyrics and throws pop-culture references, trendy catch phrases for the male lead to woo his romantic interest.
The lines, ‘Andhagate evaru antu..Chupinchare nidhe roadu..Andhakochi chudhamantey..Bayatunnadey me dadu’ are enough to showcase the flavour of the number. Bhanu’s choreography is one of the major highlights of the song and it shows Kiran Abbavaram has certainly come a long way as a dancer. Athulyaa Ravi complements his energy levels fairly well in this gorgeously shot number.
Meter features Kiran as a cop for the first time in his career. The film is packed with several commercial ingredients to woo the masses. Sapthagiri and Posani Krishna Murali too essay important roles in the masala saga, which has cinematography by Venkat C Dileep with dialogues by Ramesh Kaduri and Surya. JV is the production designer for the film presented by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili.
