While there are groups that already enjoy privileges after debuting from the Big 3 (YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and SM Entertainment), and now with HYBE Entertainment added to the list there are also groups emerging from smaller agencies who sometimes struggle to gain exposure but still manage to entertain fans with their songs, performances, and dedication.

One such group that defied the odds like BTS, who rose from an almost bankrupt agency, BigHit Entertainment, to become a global sensation, is (G)I-DLE. This five-member girl group under CUBE Entertainment debuted on May 2, 2018, with the mini album 'I Am'. Originally a sextet, (G)I-DLE saw a change in the lineup when Soojin left the group on August 14, 2021.
The group steadily rose to fame and delivered hit songs like 'Queencard', 'Wife' and 'Super Lady', showcasing their impressive talent. Let's meet each of the five members — Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua — one by one.

Born on August 26, 1998, Jeon Soyeon gained recognition as a contestant on Produce 101, finishing 20th, and later excelling as the third-place winner on Unpretty Rapstar 3.
Soyeon signed a deal with CUBE around December 2016 and made her solo debut on November 5, 2017, with the release of her self-written, composed, and arranged digital single "JELLY."

In June 2021, Soyeon earned a notable mention on KOMCA's (Korea Music Copyright Association) top 100 list as the first fourth-generation girl group member and the third overall, following fourth-generation idols. Additionally, she stands as the youngest among female K-pop idols known for their remarkable independence in the industry.

Born on January 31, 1997, Cho Miyeon began her journey as a YG Trainee, departing from the company in mid-2015. Initially slated to debut with BLACKPINK, fate took her on a different path. She ultimately made her official solo debut on April 27, 2022, with the release of the single "Drive."
Before joining CUBE Entertainment, Miyeon embarked on a career as a freelance singer. In October 2020, she showcased her vocal prowess by performing "We Already Fell In Love" alongside Minnie for the 'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' soundtrack. Then, in November of the same year, she also sang 'My Destiny', for the 'Tale of the Nine Tailed' soundtrack.

Nicha Yontararak, born on October 23, 1997, is widely recognized by her nickname and stage name, Minnie. Hailing from Thailand, she is a multifaceted talent and shares a close friendship with fellow Thai artists Sorn from CLC and Lisa from BLACKPINK.

In September 2020, Minnie ventured into acting with her debut role in the Netflix sitcom 'So Not Worth It', sharing the screen with Park Se-wan, Shin Hyun Seung, Got7's Youngjae, and Han Hyun-min. Continuing to showcase her versatility, Minnie contributed her vocals to the 'My Dangerous Wife' soundtrack with the song "Getaway" in October. Additionally, she collaborated with Cho Miyeon on 'We Already Fell In Love', featured in the 'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' soundtrack.

Born on September 23, 1999, in China, Song Yuqi embarked on her journey by auditioning for Cube Entertainment in October 2014, during a global audition held in Beijing. Her talent and charm have garnered widespread recognition, leading to her nomination for "Most 100 Beautiful Faces of 2018," where she proudly represented China.
Stepping into the spotlight as a soloist, Song Yuqi made her debut on May 13, 2021, with the release of her single album "A Page." She also showcased her versatility as a cast member on the Chinese variety show "Keep Running" since 2019. She also took on the role of host for the KakaoTV reality show "Learn Way" from 2020 to 2021.
Song Yuqi displayed her patriotism and talent by participating in the creation of the theme song "Salute to the Heroes" for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.
Position: Sub Vocalist, Visual, Maknae
Born on January 6, 2000, in Taipei City, Taiwan, Yeh Shu Hua initially aspired to become an actress but had a change of heart after being inspired by HyunA's stage presence. This steered her towards a career in singing.
In 2016, she auditioned for CUBE Entertainment in Taiwan, marking the beginning of her journey in the music industry. Shuhua's passion caught the attention of many, leading to her appearance in the music video for "PET" by 10cm in September 2017.

However, as of February 8, 2024, Cube Entertainment released a statement announcing that Shuhua will be taking a temporary hiatus from promotional activities to focus on her recovery. This decision reflects the agency's commitment to Shuhua's well-being, ensuring that she receives the necessary support and care during this time.
