After releasing several popular shows like ATM, Puli Meka, Vyavastha this year, ZEE5 is gearing up for the premiere of another multistarrer web series titled Maya Bazaar For Sale (earlier titled Maya Bazaar). The show is presented by Rana Daggubati, bankrolled by Rajeev Ranjan of Spirit Media and is written and directed by Gautami Challagulla (who was the writer for shows like Social, Posh Poris and Mana Mugguri Love Story).

Maya Bazaar For Sale is a Telugu sitcom focusing on the travails of the pivotal characters in a gated community in Hyderabad. The dramedy revolves around the story of several families - the Pastry’s, Gandhi’s, the Hippies, the Bachelors and a lovey-dovey couple - moving into premium villas in a community called Maya Bazaar. When the government declares that its construction is illegal, all hell breaks loose. What’s in store for Maya Bazaar’s residents?

The lineup comprises a fine mix of experienced actors and young talent, including Navdeep Pallapolu, Eesha Rebba, Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Hari Teja, Jhansi Laxmi, Meiyang Chang, Sunaina and Kota Srinivas Rao. The show has wrapped its filming, post-production formalities and is set to release on ZEE5 on July 14. Maya Bazaar For Sale spans seven episodes and satirically explores modern-day relationships and community living.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 believes that the show normalises unconventional ideas with light-hearted comedy and fits well into the streamer’s idea to develop diverse and socially relevant content that entertains. Producer Rajeev Ranjan showered praise upon his cast Meiyang, Naresh, Eesha, and others for their performances and is confident about audience’s appetite for such content.

Director Gautami Challagulla, thanking her cast and crew, stated that the show suggests how life’s tragedies don’t discriminate and come and found the story an opportunity to expose audiences to newer ways of life. Jerry Silvester scores the music and Naveen Yadav is the cinematographer.
