Max, Kichcha 47 to R. Chandru's next: Everything in Kiccha Sudeep's kitty

Fans of Sudeep were treated to a flurry of announcements on his recent 50th birthday, which he emphatically celebrated on September 2

Not very long ago, the lack of any clarity regarding Kiccha Sudeep's follow-up to Vikrant Rona troubled a lot of his fans. Although the actor was rumoured to be associated with multiple projects at the time, there was no formal announcement to rely on but soon enough, Sudeep would himself reveal that he had finalized three scripts. He also added that the work behind each of these projects was already underway, meaning that it was a matter of time before there was more clarity.

And turns out that Sudeep's landmark 50th birthday would be the opportune occasion for all those updates to make their way out. On September 2, as many as four of Sudeep's upcoming films were announced and for the actor's fans, there's now lots to look forward to. Let's take a quick look at everything that Kiccha Sudeep has in his kitty at the moment.

'Max' with debutant Vijay Karthikeya

The first in the line-up, of course, is Kichcha 46 or 'Max'. Produced by reputed Tamil film producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu, the film is a violence-heavy entertainer that has Sudeep playing the titular role. The film is being currently shot in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu with Samyukta Hornad also part of the cast. Is Sudeep playing a dashing cop in the film? Well, let's wait and watch.

'Kichcha 47' with Cheran

Kichcha 47: Will Kiccha Sudeep's next be Cheran's most commercial film to date?

Sudeep sprung a pleasant surprise back in 2006 when he made his debut as a director with My Autograph. The film was a remake of the Tamil film Autograph, which was directed by Cheran. Cut to 2023, Sudeep has announced that he will be collaborating with Cheran on a feature film which will be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. This project is likely to take off once the actor wraps up 'Max'.

'KK' or King Kichcha with KRG Productions

Another super exciting announcement that was made on Sudeep's birthday is King Kichcha, the actor's maiden collaboration with KRG Productions. To make things all the more special, Sudeep will also direct the film, meaning that he returns to the director's chair after nearly a decade (his last directorial being Maanikya in 2014).

Untitled R. Chandru project

If the fans were enthused over the Kichcha 46 titled announcement, the same people were perplexed to see R. Chandru announcing a project with Sudeep. Many even wondered if it was a prank on someone's part until the Kabzaa director himself announced the project with a special poster. What's more, the film's script will be doctored by Baahubali 2, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and RRR story writer, K.V. Vijayendra Prasad! Yes, you heard that right.

Billa Ranga Baashaa with Anup Bhandari

Another exciting venture currently part of Sudeep's radar is Anup Bhandari's ambitious, futuristic project Billa Ranga Baashaa. The film has been in development for quite some time and was even meant to go on floors back in 2019 but it is yet to see the light of day. Back in June 2023, it emerged that the film finally entered pre-production but there is no formal announcement made yet.

Film with Venkat Prabhu

Many would recall a special photograph that Venkat Prabhu had shared from Sudeep's residence almost two years ago, triggering speculations that the two are to soon collaborate on a film. OTTplay learned recently from a source close to the development that the said project is currently in the writing stage and if things do fall into place as expected, Venkat Prabhu could get started on it once he completes Thalapathy 67. But, much like Billa Ranga Baashaa, one awaits an official word on the same.
