Max box office collection day 4: The action thriller, set over one night, stars Sudeep as Arjun Mahakshay, and directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeyaa

Actor Kiccha Sudeep's latest Kannada release Max has emerged as a Christmas winner, given the film has managed to earn Rs 22.25 crore in India within four days of release in theatres. Given the weekend is not yet over, and New Year's is approaching, there are high chances for the film to soon cover the coveted 25-crore mark soon, given Max earned Rs 5 crore on Saturday alone.

Max is one of the Christmas releases, which tasted success. The film released on December 25 to positive reviews. The Kiccha Sudeep-starrer has managed to earn Rs 22.25 crore as of Saturday, which seemingly gives a positive response for the first weekend test. The film is expected to soon mint Rs 25 crore overall, if Sunday figures too will be added. Max observed an occupancy of 43.13% on Saturday in Kannada.

It looks like Kiccha Sudeep who came back to the big screen after a gap of two years, since the release of Vikrant Rona, with Max can heave a sigh of relief. Max is an action thriller helmed by debutant director Vijay Karthikeyaa. It is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, marking his maiden production in Kannada. Thanu is known for making films in Tamil and has made Karnan, Asuran and Thuppaki to name a few.

Max is set during the events that happen over one night, with Kiccha Sudeep playing the protagonist Arjun Mahakshay, who is caught in a typhoon of violence. The film happened to be the only Kannada release for the festive season.

The cast of Max includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sunil, Sharath Lohithashwa, Pramod Shetty, Sukrutha Wagle, Samyukta Hornad, Sudha Belawadi, Vijay Chendoor, and others.

“Debutant director Vijay Kartikeyaa’s Max is a racy thriller that’s well- crafted and perfect for Kiccha Sudeep, who is front and centre of the film,” reads OTTplay review of the film.
