Mathagam Part 2 out on OTT: Gautham Menon, K. Manikandan's web series promises an explosive season finale

The new episodes of Mathagam Part 2 have become available for streaming.

The new episodes of Mathagam have arrived on Disney+Hotstar. Two new episodes of the second part of the season dropped on the platform on Thursday. The crime series, created and directed by Prasath Murugesan, known for his work on the Queen web series and the movie Kidaari.

Prasath Murugesan is one of the regular collaborators of filmmaker Gautham Menon, who is exploring different formats and platforms in storytelling. Prasath co-directed the Queen web series along with Gautham, before venturing out on his own with Mathagam.

Mathagam Part 2 is now streaming

The first part of Mathagam had five episodes and all were released on August 18 earlier this year. The second part offers just two episodes, and the showrunners promise an explosive season finale. "I am very attracted to the OTT space. While theatres reach one kind of audience, OTT caters to another kind of audience. It has also a huge space for personal viewing. And we need to work harder to meet the artistic requirements of the OTT space," Prasath Murugesan said earlier.

Prasath Murugesan worked on this project for over two years. The two-part series tells the high-stake cat-and-mouse chase between a cop and a dreaded criminal. In the series, Atharvaa plays the role of a cop named Ashwath Rathnakumar and K. Manikandan essays the main gangster named Padalam Sekar. Gautham Menon also plays a significant role in the series.

Judging from the trailer, both the cop and the criminal are two sides of the same coin. Despite being on opposite sides of the law, they share more in common than they are willing to acknowledge. Earlier, the showrunners released a small sneak peek from the second part revealing the similarities between the two opposing forces.

The series also stars Nikhila Vimal, Dhivyadharshini, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, Vadivukkarasi, Thirunavukkarasu and Munnar Ramesh.
