Atharvaa Murali, who was last seen in the web series space in Navarasa, is gearing up for his next. The series, which is titled Mathagam, will have Atharvaa, Manikandan and Nikhila Vimal in the lead. Going by the glimpse dropped by the team, it looks like the show is predominantly set in the night. Radikaa Sarathkumar's voiceover says that the night is watching over everyone - the one who only sees the light and the other who only sees the day. It looks like Atharvaa plays a police officer called Ashwath Ramkumar.
The series is directed by Prasath Murugesan, who made films like Kidaari (2016). It is said that the thriller is set in a span of 30 hours and showcases a siege that happens overnight. The series will drop on Disney + Hotstar and will feature an ensemble cast, which includes Gautham Menon, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, Dhivyadarshini, Vadivukarasi, Aruvi Thirunavukkarasu, Munnar Ramesh, Sarath Ravi, Rishikanth and Murali Abbas, to name a few. The glimpse has been garnering a lot of attention from fans.
While the music for the show is by Darbuka Siva, cinematography is by Edwin Sakay and editing is by Praveen Antony. The action sequences have been choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan and the art direction has been handled by Suresh Kallery. The series will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi.
On the film front, Atharvaa will be seen in Karthik Naren's Nirangal Moondru, which is billed as a thriller. The film explores three characters and the star cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Rahman and Sarathkumar. The trailer of the film was launched recently by AR Rahman and AR Murugadoss and it garnered a lot of attention. Atharvaa is also playing the lead in Ravindra Madhava's Thanal, an action thriller. The film has Lavanya Tripathi and Ashwin Kakumanu as part of the star cast.
