We had earlier reported that SonyLIV has been conducted the second season of culinary competitive show MasterChef Tamil. On Friday, the winner of the show was announced. The title has been bagged by Akash Muralidharan from Chennai. All the episodes of MasterChef is available on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.
SonyLIV's MasterChef season 2 winner announced
On Friday, the show announced its winner to be Akash Muralidharan hailing from Chennai. Apart from him home cooks Zarina Banu, Vani Sundar, and Pavithra Nalin also made it to the top four. The culinary show featured a set of contestants compete against each other with various challenges posed on them. All the episodes of MasterChef season two are available for streaming on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.
Akash Muralidharan journey in the show has been novel and impressive, with the home cook trying out various innovative recipes while also reducing food waste. The contestant who took up to cooking from his kitchen, has been inspired by his family members, including grandmother, mother and aunts. An architecture student by educational background, his passion for food and cooking made him take up this path of culinary. Akash pursued master’s degree in food design and innovation in Milan.

The show features Chefs Koushik Shankar, Shreeya Adka, and Rakesh Raghunathan as judges, who craft unique challenges. Speaking about his win, Akash said that the show has been a pivotal role in his life and a dream come true moment for him to win the show. As per reports, he was quoted as saying, “This victory is totally dedicated to my family, especially my brother, who has been my biggest supporter. I never imagined standing in the MasterChef India Tamil kitchen, wearing the apron, and cooking dishes for the world to see." He also said that the competition also helped him to learn about sustainable cooking, instigating his liking and passion to make tasty dishes with exotic ingredients.
