India’s favourite contestant Depinder Chhibber gets eliminated from MasterChef Australia Season 13,
India’s favourite contestant Depinder Chhibber received a heartfelt adieu from MasterChef Australia Season 13 in the latest episode. The Delhi-born Depinder has been among the top 10 contestants in the current season of the popular reality show.
From her tandoori Chicken with naan and smoked lassi to her tiffin box with grandma’s mustard pickle, Depinder took Indian culinary traditions to the global stage. With dishes like Green Curry Cake, she successfully created a fusion work of art on the show. Depinder has given at least some Indian touch in most of her dishes throughout her journey in the MasterChef kitchen.
Earlier in a statement, talking about Indian values, Depinder said, “I guess this is my identity, it is who I am today. I belong to one of the most diverse and largest cultures in the world. I’ve been blessed with the best of both worlds.”,
She further mentioned that she was born and raised in India and has showcased her Indian heritage during several challenges in the show and also hopes that this has elevated Indian cuisine in Australia even more.
The 29-year-old pharmacist also researches ancient cooking techniques, royal dishes which were once commonly prepared, presented but are barely cooked in India now. She finds inspiration from historic events and cultures. “I aspire to showcase home style and regional Indian food because it deserves a place in mainstream cuisines,” Depinder signed off.
MasterChef Australia Season 13 is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
