Masoom saw Samara Tijori share the screen with Boman Irani. The web series, which marked the latter’s digital debut, premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on June 17. Samara recently opened up about acting alongside Boman and how her ‘star kid’ status affected her career.

In conversation with Hindustan Times, Samara spoke of how she was not treated any differently because she was Deepak Tijori’s daughter and that she had always gone through ‘normal’ audition processes. She recalled her first ever audition for an advertisement, which included about 180 other girls as well. Recounting how nervous she had been, she spoke of how her hands shook at the time. In addition to working in advertisements, the actress said that she had also worked as an assistant director too.

On working with Boman in Masoom, Samara said that she had never seen the former essay a character like that. “He just killed it,” she said. The actress spoke of how she had learnt a lot from Boman, who was ‘relaxed’ as ever on sets and even cracked jokes.

The actress recalled how she would be stressed and try to stay in character even between takes, putting on her headphones and trying to be sad. Boman on the other hand, could instantly cry when the scene demanded it as the cameras started to roll.

Samara revealed how she was left surprised by this and had approached the actor asking how he was able to do it. Boman had advised her to be honest, and Samara had tried to observe and learn from the former as much as she could. The actress said that one of the best things she learnt from him, which actually helped her in her work, was to have fun and play games in between takes. This allowed her to clear her mind and do better work, she added.
