The makers of Malli Raava and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya are back with an intriguing tale
Swadharm Entertainment, which has given us refreshing films like the Sumanth, Aakanksha Singh starrer Malli Raava and Naveen Polishetty’s thriller comedy Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, is back in the news for another film. This time, they’re coming up with an intriguing psychological thriller titled Masooda. Palasa 1978 actor Thiruveer, Sangitha and Kavya Kalyan Ram play lead roles.
Ante Sundaraniki actor Nani had unveiled the film’s teaser today. Masooda, written and directed by Masooda, is produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka. The teaser starts with Sangitha and Thiruveer discussing about a possible solution for the psychological issues faced by a girl named Nazia. They’re debating about opting for medication and heading to a peer baba for an alternative.
There are glimpses of a girl moving back and forth on a swing, a group of men sporting anxious looks. Later, a woman complains about a lady sitting on a floor with her hair open. There’s blood, murder and suspense amid a riveting background score and a woman stands alone in a field. We later return to Thiruveer’s conversation, where he emphasises on protecting Nazia, come what may.
Masooda promises to be a compelling cocktail of psychology, thrills and suspense and takes on superstitions. The slick teaser is extremely well cut, while introducing viewers to the theme of the film and still not revealing much about the plot. Subhaleka Sudhakar, Akhila Ram, Bandavi Sridhar, Satyam Rajesh, Satya Prakash, Surya Rao, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Krishna Teja form the supporting cast.
Prashanth R Vihari is scoring the music for the film while Nagesh Banell is the cinematographer. Kranthi Priyam is the art director and Jesvin Prabu has edited the film. Ram Krishan and Stunt Jashuva are the stunt choreographers. The release date of the film hasn’t been announced yet. Sangitha, who plays a key role in Masooda, is also part of Vijay’s bilingual Varisu a.k.a Vaarasudu.
