A still from the new trailer

Marvel Entertainment dropped a new clip of the highly-anticipated film from phase four of Marvel releases - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Titled Need, the clip opens with Simu Liu entering the arena, where we had last seen Hulk’s nemesis Abomination and Benedict Wong’s character Wong go head to head in the official movie trailer.

The latest clip also offers a glimpse at the fraught relation between father and son, their family legacy and Liu trying to outrun his destiny as he fights off bad guys with style.

Watch the new trailer below.

The Deston Daniel Cotton’s directorial features Awkwafina in her quintessential comedic role as Katy, Shang-Chi’s best friend, Tony Leung as Wenwu/The Mandarin, the leader of the Ten Rings organisation and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, the guardian of a mythical city.

Marvel has been fervently churning out releases this year. After the success of WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Black Widow, Shang-Chi promises to be the next big thing. It will be followed by Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home and hopefully end this year with Hawkeye on Disney+ Hotstar.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings boasts of a mostly Asian-American cast and will be the first Marvel movie to have a protagonist of Asian descent. The film will obviously have Marvel’s trademark CGI and special effects, which promises a spectacle in theatres.

The film is slated for release on September 3, ahead of Marvel’s Eternals which boasts of a diverse ensemble cast.
