The makers of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have finally completed filming after dealing with various setbacks during production. Costume designer Ruth Carter (in a since-deleted post), hairstylist Nikki Wright, and cinematographer Autumn Durald, all of whom worked on Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever just revealed that the film has been completed.
After one of the film's stars was injured on set, the sequel's production was delayed numerous times. The film has recently resumed production and will be released in theatres on November 11, 2022. It was originally planned for May 6 and 8, 2022. It will be part of the MCU's fourth phase.
When the first instalment of the Black Panther series was released in February 2018, it was a huge success. With worldwide revenue of USD 1.34 billion, Black Panther is Marvel's highest-grossing non-Avengers film of all time.
In addition, the film received seven Academy Award nominations and won Oscars for score, costume design, and production design.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, directed by Ryan Coogler, has been in the works since 2018, but has been repeatedly postponed.
Due to Chadwick Boseman's terrible death in 2020, Black Panther 2 will be without its principal character. Because T'Challa was not recast by Marvel Studios, the storyline concentrates on other characters like Shuri (Letitia Wright), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and M'Baku (Winston Duke).
Lupita Nyong'o, who is also a part of the film, was earlier asked about the sequel. To which she joked, stating that, in true Marvel fashion, she had nothing to say.
How, the Oscar-winning actor, assured us that it'd be different without their king to go back into that realm. But she knows that in this new Black Panther they are all committed to continuing his legacy. And Coogler has some fantastic ideas that she is looking forward to bringing to life with the rest of the cast.
Ludwig Göransson, the composer for the first Black Panther film, was expected to return in September 2021 for the sequel.
