Marco Day 6 box office collection: Unni Mukundan’s actioner held steady on Christmas day to gross Rs 3.5 Cr from Indian markets, taking its worldwide gross over Rs 50 Cr
Malayalam movie Marco is well on track to become the highest-grossing all-out action film from the industry, with the film already crossing Rs 50 Cr in worldwide revenue since its release on December 20.
After grossing Rs 3.5 Cr on Day 5, the movie had faced stiff competition from Mohanlal’s Barroz on Day 6 (Christmas Day), but still held steady and didn’t see any dip, as it collected a further Rs 3.5 Cr – taking its overall domestic tally to Rs 25.05 Cr, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk.
While the weekend saw the movie gross upwards of Rs 5 Cr, especially on Sunday, the weekdays had seen the film’s collection fall. This was expected, considering that it was an A-rated film and wouldn’t have been the preferred choice for families during the Chritmas and New Year holidays.

However, with Barroz getting unfavourable reviews and other films such as Rifle Club and Extra Decent also not showing a rise in bookings, Marco has managed to hold steady and collected a good gross. Even shows in other centres such as Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi saw an increase in occupancy.
The makers of the film have already hailed Unni Mukundan as the next Superstar of Malayalam cinema. Marco is the actor’s second solo Rs 100 Cr earner after Mallikappuram. Considering that the earlier movie had appealed to audiences across age groups, Marco, which is primarily targetting at a select group of audience above the age of 18, it’s a commendable feat.
Whether the film would gross Rs 100 crore worldwide needs to be seen, but it’s a possibility as Marco’s Telugu version is yet to release. The makers, who had sold its rights for Rs 3 Cr, have announced that the film will hit theatres on January 1, 2025.
Marco also has Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadeesh and Siddique as part of its cast. While the movie is based on the character Marco from Mikhael, it has no other connection to the Nivin Pauly-starrer.
