Marco Day 18 box office collection: Unni Mukundan’s action thriller grossed only Rs 1.3 Cr on Monday, but still managed to overtake Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Guruvayoor Amabalanadayil gross.
Pushed by its dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, and effective marketing promotions, Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco grossed over Rs 50 Cr from the Indian market over the weekend, but on Day 18, its third Monday, the movie saw its lowest single-day collection with just Rs 1.3 Cr gross.
Over the weekend, the makers had claimed that the film collected over Rs 100 Cr worldwide, but it doesn’t seem like the film has legs to overtake movies such as last year’s superhits Aavesham, Manjummel Boys or Premalu.

Marco’s India box office collections, which stands at Rs 53.15 Cr on Day 18 as per industry tracker Sacnilk, were driven mostly by the dubbed versions – especially after its second-week theatrical run.
The Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions has so far collected Rs 8.88 Cr, Rs 0.8 Cr and Rs 3.60 Cr, respectively. It’s a record for a Malayalam film’s dubbed Hindi and Telugu version to gross this much. A few weeks earlier, Marco had broken the Hindi collection record of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitham and now, a member from the film’s team, who had also worked in the latter, confirmed that Marco’s total box office collection has surpassed Prithviraj’s Guruvayoorambala Nadayil total gross.
There have been several reports that suggested that the film is gearing up for its OTT release on Netflix. However, the film’s producer Shareef Muhammed shared on Monday that the makers are yet to sign any OTT deal and encouraged viewers to watch the movie in theatres.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, the film’s director Haneef Adeni had clarified that the team had never set out to make a pan-Indian film and only wanted to make a Malayalam action movie in the best possible way they can. “That the film has travelled so far, makes us happier,” he said.
