The actor couple, who met on the set of the 2015 film Malupu, had been rumoured to be dating for a while. Their engagement this week puts all speculation to rest.
Nikki Galrani, who began her filmi journey from Bengaluru with projects in Malayalam and Kannada and then shifted base to Chennai when she went on to find a firm footing in Tamil cinema, got engaged earlier this week. The actress, who has been dating her Malupu (Telugu debut, available to stream on Jiocinema) and Maragatha Nanayam/Marakathamani (available to stream on SunNXT and MX Player) co-star Aadhi Pinisetty for a while, got engaged to him on March 24.
It was speculated that the couple was set to get engaged for a while, but there was no official confirmation. Earlier this week, though, the actress’ sister Sanjjanaa, also a south Indian actress, who is heavily pregnant with her first child, had posted about taking a train to Chennai to attend a family event. Congratulatory messages to Nikki went unanswered, until today, when the actress shared images from her engagement to Aadhi.
Sharing three images, Nikki wrote, “The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. We found each other a couple of years ago & it’s official now 💍24.3.2022 This day was really special to us. We got engaged in the presence of both our families 🌸Seeking all your love & blessings as we take on this new journey together ♥️”
On the career front, Nikki has two upcoming Malayalam movies – Virunnu with Arjun Sarja and Meri Awaaz Suno with Jayasurya and and Manju Warrier – and the Tamil film Idiot with Shiva. Aadhi is currently working on the Telugu/Tamil bilingual The Warrior.
