SonyLIV (OTTPlay Premium) is bringing a nerve-wracking crime thriller series Mnavat Murders. The story centers around the real events of the brutal murders that shook Maharashtra in the 1970s. Ahead of the release of the Ashutosh Gowariker starrer series, the makers introduced us to a new character, Uttamrao, described as a man full of secrets. The role is being played by Makarand Anaspure.

On September 25, SonyLIV took to their official Instagram account and shared a new promo of Manvat Murders. The clip introduces us to the character of Uttamrao, played by Makarand Anaspure.

Sharing the clip, the streaming platform gave a peek into his nature. They wrote, "Meet Uttamrao: A man full of secrets, always lurking in the shadows. His true motives are hidden, and his actions can be downright chilling."

Manvat Murders will be available for streaming on October 4 on SonyLIV (OTTPlay Premium).

Meet Ashutosh Gowariker aka DCP Ramakant Kulkarni

The streaming platform also shared a video to introduce us to Ashutosh Gowariker's character. He will be seen as DCP Ramakant Kulkarni. He will unravel the mystery of the brutal killings.

Ashutosh Gowariker shared the trailer on X and wrote, "Seven murders; Unsolved for over one and a half year. Will the ace cop from Mumbai, RAMAKANT KULKARNI be able to bring Justice? Watch MANVAT MURDERS, a story based on dreadful crime which shook the state of Maharashtra in 1970’s. Streaming on 4th October only on Sony LIV!"

Set in 1970, the series narrates the story of a series of brutal murders that happened in a small village in Maharashtra. For the past year and a half, seven murders have remained unsolved in mystery. The series shows how Ramakant S Kulkarni will bring justice to society.

Notably, the crime thriller series is based on Ramakant S Kulkarni’s novel, Footprints on the Sand of Crime.

The cast includes Ashutosh Gowariker, Sai Tamhankar, Makarand Anaspure, Sonali Kulkarni, Kishor Kadam, and Mayur Khandge, among others. It is directed by Ashish Bende, and Girish Joshi has written the series. Saket Kanetkar composed the music, and Satyajeet Shobha Shriram did the cinematography.
