Indian cinema has come to a point where fans and even stars from both the South and North industries are discussing the success of pan Indian movies. Following RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 crossing the Rs. 1000 crore mark, actor Manoj Bajpayee now has his say on the matter.
Talking to Puja Talwar in a recent interview, the actor said, “No one wants to talk about the film or the performances or contribution of the other departments”.He added that we are stuck with collections of Rs. 1000 crore of Rs. 400 crore and the debate has been going for a long time and it does not look like it will end.
The actor said that critics ask why his movies are not doing the same and he answers that mainstream actors are evaluated on the basis of box office numbers.
“I was never a part of that world (mainstream). I used to go sometimes to that world for some reason but would come back again. For us getting our film released in theatres was tough before. Now it gets tougher due to the ₹1000 crore films.” he said.
