Manoj Bajpayee recently opened up about his professional life before Satya's release. The Ram Gopal Varma directorial is set to be re-released on January 17, 2025.
Manoj Bajpayee rose to fame in the Hindi film industry with Satya. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film featured Manoj as Bhiku Mhatre. The gangster was well-received by the critics and the masses. Written by Anurag Kashyap and Saurabh Shukla, Satya eventually received a cult classic status. 27 years after its original release, the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer is set for a re-release on the big screen. Ahead of that, Manoj reflected on his career before Satya was released. He also spoke about the film's re-releasing in cinemas on January 17, 2025.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Manoj Bajpayee opened up about his career before Satya hit the big screen in 1998. "I wasn’t expecting anything for myself in this lifetime. However, I soon realized that God had different plans. I felt the difference in how I was treated by the industry post-Satya and I will always cherish the euphoria my character created," he shared.

Talking about the film re-releasing in cinemas, Manoj mentioned that there is an entire generation that grew up without experiencing the magic of his 1998 film, Satya. Bajpayee added that he is happy that the new generation will get a chance to watch Satya on the big screen. "They can now find out for themselves why it was such a cult and unforgettable film," he said.
The actor further reflected on how his life changed after Satya worked well. Manoj said that two years after he did Satya, all of his films were compared to it. "Satya not only changed my life, but also gave hope to so many people to leave their comfort zone and chase their dreams," he mentioned.
