Chidambaram's Manjummel Boys has made over Rs 180 crore worldwide and is anticipated to enter the Rs 200 crore club for Malayalam cinema very soon.
Chidambaram's latest Malayalam film, Manjummel Boys, appears to have no bounds. This survival drama about friendship has shattered all box office records and is now the highest-grossing Malayalam film in Karnataka. In the state, the movie brought in more than Rs 10 crore.
Manjummel Boys has eclipsed the global record of the Tovino Thomas film, 2018. The latter earned approximately Rs 175 crore globally. But just four weeks after its theatrical release, Manjummel Boys outperformed it, creating a new standard for box office performance for Malayalam films to come. The Soubin Shahir starrer has made over Rs 180 crore worldwide.

As of right now, the survival thriller is the first Malayalam movie ever to cross the Rs 50 crore threshold in Tamil Nadu, setting a new record at the state box office. Additionally, the film has amassed more lifetime collections in the state than Dhanush's most recent release, Captain Miller.
Within its lifetime run at the theatres, the Chidambaram-directed film is anticipated to enter the Rs. 200 crore club for Malayalam cinema very soon.
It is now said that the team will release the Telugu and Hindi versions prior to the OTT release. The makers are apparently eager to extend the movie's box office performance beyond Rs 200 crore and throughout the North Indian belt, despite the fact that a lot of people have already seen it in Malayalam. This is likely because of the film's compelling narrative and plausible theme of friendship.
Manjummel Boys' makers are at ease until the movie's craze completely takes over theatres. The movie has plenty of time to fully capitalise on its growing success because the filmmakers appear not to be in a rush to get it available on a digital streaming platform. Given the lack of any major Malayalam releases in the upcoming weeks, Manjummel Boys may continue to be the most widely watched film among audiences.
