According to sources, one of the highly anticipated Malayalam films of 2024, Manjummel Boys, will be releasing in theatres on February 22. Though the makers had confirmed that the film would be a February release, they did not confirm the exact date through any posters or trailers.
The film will release following the theatrical debut of some much-awaited Malayalam films, such as Mammootty’s Bramayugam and Tovino Thomas’s Anweshippin Kandethum, this month.
Manjummel Boys is directed by Chidambaram, who made his debut with Jan.E.Man. Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Ganapathy, Balu Varghese, Chandu Salimkumar, Deepak Parambol, Arun Kurian, Lal Jr and Khalid Rahman are playing pivotal roles in this film, which is touted to be a movie on friendship.
The film centres on true events that happened in the Kodaikanal tourist destination of Guna Caves, also known as Devil's Kitchen, as per sources. The storyline of the film is based on an actual event where a young Malayali man fell into a cave approximately sixty feet below the surface. His friends intervened to save him until help or the authorities arrived.
Though some of it was filmed in Kochi, the majority was shot in Tamil Nadu. The film's editor is Vivek Harshan, while Shyju Khalid oversaw the camera work. Manjummel Boys' soundtracks have been composed by Sushin Shyam.

The film's survival thriller plot which centres on saving a young man who falls into the depths of the Guna Caves, also known as the Devil's Kitchen of Kodaikanal, is suggested in the trailer.
The rest of the cast, including Sreenath Bhasi, who plays the trapped youth, form his friends and help save him in spite of resistance from the authorities and tardiness from those who should be saving him. A visually captivating and suspenseful thriller is also promised in the video. The intense plot of the movie is further elevated by Shyju Khalid's cinematography and Sushin Shyam's soundtrack.
