The first big announcement on Manju Warrier’s birthday is that of a “multi-lingual, cross cultural movie” titled Ayisha, which will be produced by Sudani from Nigeria and Halal Love Story director Zakariya. The upcoming film is directed by debutant Aamir Pallikal and scripted by Aashif Kakkodi.

The makers had revealed that the film will have an Indo-Arabic backdrop and the film will be shot entirely in the Middle East. Touted to be a family movie, Ayisha has Manju Warrier playing the titular character. Apart from Malayalam and English, the movie will be released in English and other Indian languages.

M Jayachandran will be composing the music with BK Harinarayanan as its lyricist and Appu Bhattathiri serving as its editor. The movie is expected to go on floors in the Gulf in January 2022.

Meanwhile, Manju Warrier has a host of releases lined up including Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham, Jayasurya’s Meri Awas Suno and Biju Menon’s Lalitham Sundaram. She is also part of Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s award-winning movie Ahr Kayattam. The actress is also set to make her Bollywood debut with a movie that has Madhavan and Deepti Sati as part of the cast.

Her next release could be Meri Awas Suno, in which she plays a social worker. Prajesh had told OTTplay, “Manju plays a social worker named Dr Reshmi Padath, who is a friend and guide to RJ Shankar, played by Jayasurya. Both of them have equally prominent roles in the movie.” Manju has also produced Lalitham Sundaram and Ahr Kayattam.
