A grand premiere event of the Manichitrathazhu 4K version was held in Chennai recently, in the presence of leading lady Shobana, a few team members, and invited guests.
Manichitrathazhu, the psychological horror film directed by Fazil, remains one of the most iconic movies ever produced by the Malayalam film industry. Mohanlal, Shobana, and Suresh Gopi played lead roles in the all-time blockbuster, which is now gearing up for its grand re-release across the globe in remastered 4K format. Recently, the Manichitrathazhu team, including leading Shobana attended the film’s premiere in Chennai. Many popular celebs of South cinema including Karthi, were spotted at the event.
As per the recent updates, a grand premiere event for Manichitrathazhu 4K version was held in Chennai, in the presence of a few cast and crew members. While leading lady Shobana and producer Swargachitra Appachan attended the event, director Fazil and leading men Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi gave the event a miss, due to their busy schedules. However, the Chennai premiere of the iconic film was attended by some of the most popular names in the South film industry, including Karthi. The Kaithi actor’s pictures with Shobana and the team are now going viral on social media.
The veteran actress, who won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance as Ganga aka Nagavalli in Manichitrathazhu, is all excited about the film’s re-release. Shobana, who addressed the media at the event, stated that the Fazil directorial is one of those rare films that never got outdated. The actress, who watched Manichitrathazhu for the third time in theatre during its 4K premiere, further added that Malayalam audiences’ immense love for this film has grown only with time.
As reported earlier, Manichitrathazhu 4K is slated to hit the theatres across the globe again, on August 17, 2024, on the auspicious occasion of Chingam 1. Director Fazil, and the cast members, including Mohanlal, Shobana, and Suresh Gopi are expected to attend the grand re-release event and promotional interviews which are being organised as a part of the re-release, from the first week of August. More updates on the Kerala premiere of the film and other events, are expected to be out soon.
