Mangalavaaram is Payal Rajput's latest release, which was directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Disney+ Hotstar has bagged the digital rights.

Managalavaaram was released on November 17, 2023, and earned decent reviews. We at OTTplay have already reported that the suspense thriller is likely to have its digital premiere either on December 22 or December 29, 2023, on Hotstar.

The film showcased Payal Rajput in a very bold avatar. A lot of love-making scenes were edited out by the makers due to the censorship guidelines. Now, the news is that all these edited-out bold scenes will be retained for the OTT version.

Payal Rajput went all out in her role for this film and her performance was appreciated a lot by the critics and audience alike. But as Mangalavaaram was released at a time when the Cricket World Cup tournament was at its peak, the collections were just about okay.

According to reports, the digital rights have been sold for Rs 9 crore. This is a big number considering the star cast and budget of the film. Ajay Bhupathi, who is well-known for his work on RX 100 and Maha Smaudram, directed the village drama.

Mangalavaram is about mysterious happenings in a small village and is connected to Payal Rajput's character. Seasoned actors like Ajay Ghosh and Krishna Chaitanya played key roles in this film, which had music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The entire film is shot in a small village and most of the drama happens at night and that too on Tuesdays.
