The journeys of Ranveer Singh and Maneesh Sharma to the big screen have been linked. Sharma not only delivered a bright rom-com with Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), but he also exposed us to a powerful performer in Singh. After 12 years and two collaborations, the filmmaker is excited to work with his protégé again on Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Talking about it, the filmmaker told Mid Day that Ranveer's progress over the last decade has been visible to everybody. The pleased mentor further said that the actor has established himself as a versatile leading man with an outstanding track record of box-office success.

Director Divyang Thakkar's social comedy, which also stars Shalini Pandey and follows the exploits of a small-town businessman, is said to make a statement on gender equality. According to the producer, this is just up Singh's alley because the actor is known for leading films with fascinating storylines at their core. Sharma went on to say that as an actor in the arena of commercial filmmaking, Ranveer instinctively seeks to push the limits. Thus, he belongs to an elite group of celebrities.

Sharma assured that the actor would revolutionise the concept of a commercial film hero with Jayeshbhai. The filmmaker goes on to say that as soon as Thakkar told him about the script, he knew he had to back the "unique" story. He saw an opportunity to create something unique here.

Earlier, in a statement, Ranveer described the character Jayeshbhai and what people might anticipate from him. The actor explained that Jayesh isn't your traditional larger-than-life hero, but what he does throughout the novel is heroic. That was something that drew Ranveer in. The character develops into a hero, and what he accomplishes is simply amazing. Ranveer called Jayeshbhai a superhero of a completely different kind.

The film is slated for release on May 13, 2022.
