Managalavaaram Day 1 box office collection: The Payal Rajput starrer is off to a good start; details inside

Managalavaaram is the latest thriller from Telugu cinema to hit theatre screens; it was released on November 17, 2023. Payal Rajput plays the female lead in the film for which she teamed up with director Ajay Bhupathi once again. Ajay had launched her in RX 100, which was a blockbuster hit.

The dark thriller Managalavaaram is off to a solid start, having raked in an impressive amount on its release day. As per the latest trade updates, Mangalavaaram has raked in Rs 4.3 crore gross worldwide on Day 1. This is an impressive number, considering that there is no star power in the film and Payal has had no hits in the last few years.

Made on a low budget of Rs 15 crore, Managalavaaram had a decent opening thanks to word of mouth. Considering that not many films were released yesterday (November 17), Managalavaaram's occupancy has increased since last night. The film's openings took a beating on Day 1 as it is an 'A' certified film and deals with a very sensitive subject.

Payal Rajput plays a very dark and bold role in the film, which has music by Ajaneesh Lokanth of Kantara fame. When compared to Day 1, the Day 2 collections in A centres are good. But the film will be tested tomorrow due to the India vs Australia Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad.

The makers are thrilled with the response and say that they are overwhelmed with the way audiences have received such a bold subject. The OTT rights to the film have been bagged by Aha and the film will be avaialable to stream from the third week of December 2023 on the OTT platform. Watch this space for more updates.
