Mammootty to reunite with the Masterpiece team for his next? Here’s what we know

Mammootty is reportedly planning to reunite with Ajai Vasudev and Uday Krishna, the director and writer of Masterpiece, for his next outing in Malayalam cinema.

Mammootty is currently going through an excellent phase in his acting career, with back-to-back promising projects in the pipeline. The megastar is set to reunite with Mohanlal for the upcoming untitled Mahesh Narayanan directorial. As per the reports, the veteran actor is reportedly planning to reunite with Ajai Vasudev and Uday Krishna, the director and writer of his hit film Masterpiece, after wrapping up Mahesh Narayanan’s film.

Mammootty to reunite with Ajai Vasudev and Uday Krishna?

According to the grapevine, Mammootty is all set to team up with director Ajai Vasudev and writer Uday Krishna, for an upcoming film. In that case, the project will mark the actor-director duo’s fourth outing, after Rajadhiraja, Masterpiece, and Shylock. The movie, touted to be an out-and-out mass action film, is reportedly bankrolled by Joby George, under the banner Goodwill Entertainments. The project is scripted by Uday Krishna, who has previously teamed up with Mammootty for many films, including the 2023-released film Christopher.

Mammootty’s upcoming movies

The megastar will be next seen in Dominic And The Ladies Purse, the Malayalam directorial debut of Gautham Vasudev Menon, which is slated to be released in January 2025. Later, he will return to the big screens with Bazooka, directed by newcomer Deeno Dennis, by mid-2024. The untitled Mahesh Narayanan directorial, which stars Mammootty in the lead role and Mohanlal in a cameo appearance, is expected to be released by the second half of 2025.

Director Jithin K Jose’s untitled crime film, which stars Mammootty and Vinayakan in the lead roles, is also expected to get a mid-2025 release. After wrapping up these projects, Mammootty is expected to reunite with hitmaker Amal Neerad, for two back-to-back projects. While the first one is expected to be a standalone mass action film, the next project will be the long-delayed sequel to the actor-director duo’s stylish action flick Big B, titled Bilal. Later, the veteran actor is also expected to team up with writer-director Ranjan Pramod, for an upcoming drama.
