Malayalam Superstar Mammootty is all set to play a negative character in an untitled horror film, which has Arjun Ashokan as the protagonist. The film is directed by Rahul Sadasivan known for his movies, Red Rain and Bhoothakaalam. According to reports, Mammootty has dedicated 30 days to the film, while Arjun has allotted 60 days.
The shoot will go on floors from August 15th and the portions will be canned in Kochi and Palakkad. Popular production house YNOT Studios, known for their films like Vikram Vedha, Saala Khadoos, and Mandela, will be financing this project. The details of the remaining cast and crew are yet to be disclosed.

It is to be noted that Arjun had previously worked alongside Mammootty in director Khalid Rahman's Unda. Mammootty has played characters with shades of grey in a number of films, including Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Kadha, Vidheyan, and in the recent outings, Puzhu and Rorschach. Hence, expectations are high from the film.
The veteran actor has a slew of films in his kitty, including Kannur Squad, Kaathal-The Core and Kadugannawa Oru Yathra. In Jeo Baby's Kaathal- The Core, Mammootty will be seen alongside Jyothika.
Kannur Squad, on the other hand, is bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany. The film is a crime thriller, helmed by debutant Roby Varghese Raj. Mammootty will be essaying the role of an assistant sub-inspector who leads a team that tracks down elusive criminals. This is the first time in a long hiatus that he plays a cop below a sub inspector’s rank. There are rumours that the teaser of the movie will be released along with the first show of Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha.
