Manorathangal, the long-awaited MT Vasudevan Nair anthology, is gearing up for its grand release on Zee5. The web series, which stars a massive star cast including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and others, is based on 9 short stories penned by the legendary writer. The Manorathangal trailer was recently launched at a grand ceremony in Kochi. MT Vasudevan Nair shared an emotional moment with leading man Mammootty at the event, and the visuals of the same are now winning the internet.

MT Vasudevan Nair, the creator of Manorathangal made a public appearance after a very long gap, at the trailer launch event of the anthology series. The legend, who turned 91 on Monday, July 15, 2024, also celebrated his birthday at the grand event held in Kochi, in the presence of Mammootty, director Priyadarshan, and other cast and crew members of the film. Amidst the celebrations, the veteran writer shared an emotional moment with the megastar, who has been his frequent collaborator and disciple, ever since the latter made his acting debut.

After cutting his birthday cake, MT Vasudevan Nair, who turned emotional, was seen sharing a warm hug with Mammootty who was standing beside him. The legendary writer-actor duo’s precious moment won the hearts of Malayalam literature and cinema lovers, and is now going viral on social media. The netizens are busy showering love on the iconic writer and actor, who have earlier teamed up for some of the finest films ever produced by the Malayalam film industry.

For the uninitiated, Mammootty made his debut as lead actor in films with Vilkkanundu Swapnangal, the 1980-released Azad directorial, which is penned by MT Vasudevan Nair. The duo later teamed up for many classic films including Thrishna, Anubandhanam, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Utharam, Sukrutham, and many more. MT, who has always been fond of Mammootty, has earlier mentioned that the legendary actor has always been the first choice for most of the lead characters he created.
