Mammootty and Mohanlal, the legendary superstars of Malayalam cinema are set to share the screen after a long gap of over 11 years. The iconic duo is teaming up for the upcoming project, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. Mammootty is set to play the lead role in the film, which reportedly stars Mohanlal in a cameo appearance. After a long wait, the highly anticipated multi-starrer has finally started rolling in Sri Lanka.

As per the latest updates, the highly anticipated Mammootty-Mohanlal starrer has finally started rolling in Sri Lanka. A recent still from the location of the Mahesh Narayanan directorial, which has been tentatively titled ‘Megastar 429’ is now going viral on social media. If the reports are to be believed, the untitled project is being filmed at a beach area, which is around 35 km away from Colombo. Both Mammootty and Mohanlal are planning to start shooting for their portions, from today (November 16, 2024).

As reported earlier, Mammootty has reportedly allotted 130 days for the highly anticipated project, which will be filmed in multiple schedules over the next six months. Mohanlal, on the other hand, is expected to film his portions in 30 days. The recent updates suggest that the Malaikottai Vaaliban actor will wrap up his Sri Lanka portions in six days. The Bramayugam actor, on the other hand, is expected to shoot in the country till mid-December, 2024.

As reported earlier, Kunchacko Boban and Asif Ali are roped in to play the pivotal roles, in the Mahesh Narayanan directorial. Even though Fahadh Faasil was initially a part of the project, the actor later made an exit due to his busy schedule. A celebrated South Indian actress is reportedly in talks to play the female lead in the film, which is expected to feature a young Malayalam actress in a key role. The makers are yet to finalise the rest of the star cast.
