Mammootty has been consistently impressing cinephiles with his movie choices and performances especially after the long pandemic break. The megastar, who is on a signing spree, is set to join hands with editor-director Mahesh Narayanan for his next outing in Malayalam cinema. The untitled project is reportedly set to mark the veteran actor’s reunion with his biggest onscreen rival Mohanlal, after a long gap. The project, which is touted to be a political thriller, will also star Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban in pivotal roles.
If the reports are to be believed, Mohanlal role in the Mammootty starrer directed by Mahesh Narayanan is much more than an extended cameo. The grapevine suggests that the Malayalam superstar’s portions in the film will be shot in one or two schedules, that are expected to last over 30 days. The filming of the project will be completed in multiple schedules within a time span of around six months. Even though Mohanlal has less screen space, the veteran actor’s character in the film is reportedly as important as leading man Mammootty’s role.
Meanwhile, the grapevine also suggests that director Mahesh Narayanan and his team are planning to make use of the de-aging technology in the upcoming Mammootty starrer. The filmmaker reportedly made this creative call to shoot the flashback portions of the film involving both the leading man and the character played by Mohanlal, in the film. In that case, the untitled project is going to be a landmark film in the technical evolution of Malayalam cinema. However, none of these reports are officially confirmed, yet.
