Mammootty and Vinayakan are joining hands for the upcoming untitled crime thriller, directed by newcomer Jithin K Jose. The shooting of the project has been wrapped up.
Mammootty is set to team up with yet another new filmmaker, for his next outing in Malayalam. As reported earlier, the megastar’s upcoming project is directed by Jithin K Jose who has previously served as a writer in Dulquer Salmaan starrer, Kurup. The actor-director's next outing, which is touted to be a crime thriller, started rolling in September 2024. After multiple schedules, Mammootty and the team have wrapped up the filming of the untitled project, which stars Vinayakan in a key role.
Recently, Mammootty Kampany, the production banner took to their official social handles and confirmed that the shooting of the Jithin K Jose directorial has been wrapped up. “It's a PACK UP for Our Production No.7!!! More Updates Soon!! Stay Tuned..” reads the X (formerly Twitter) post of the megastar’s home banner. Now, it is safe to assume that the makers are planning to officially announce the first look and title of the highly anticipated project, in a few days.

As reported earlier, Mammootty is set to play a serial killer, in the highly-anticipated film. According to the grapevine, the dark-shaded role is inspired by the real-life serial killer ‘Cyanide’ Mohan aka Mohan Kumar. The infamous criminal, based in Mangalore, killed around 20 women who were looking for suitable partners. Vinayakan, on the other hand, is reportedly set to play the role of a police officer, in the Jithin K Jose directorial.
The makers are yet to reveal the female lead and the rest of the star cast, of the untitled film. The crime thriller was widely shot at various locations of Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, and the Ernakulam district of Kerala. Sushin Shyam is reportedly roped in to compose the music score. Roby Varghese Raj has joined the team as the director of photography of the film, bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany. The much-awaited project is expected to hit the big screens by the first quarter of 2025.
