Malli Pelli teaser: Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh star in a film inspired by their real-life drama

MS Raju writes and directs the film that also stars Vanitha Vijaykumar, Jayasudha and Sarath Babu

Celebrity couple Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh, who got hitched recently, braved many odds to stay together. Amid several controversies surrounding their relationship, the duo announced their marriage earlier this year. Malli Pelli, their next film together, recreates all the off-screen drama behind the infamous incidents revolving around Naresh and his ex-wife Ramya Raghupathi.

MS Raju has written and directed the relationship drama that also features Vanitha Vijaykumar, Jayasudha and Sarath Babu in crucial roles. Naresh, in his 50th year of filmdom, is bankrolling the film himself under Vijaya Krishna Movies. While the film’s teaser was to release the previous weekend, the team finally launched it today. It has all the necessary ingredients to grab eyeballs.

Vanitha Vijaykumar, as Parvathi, a role similar to Naresh’s ex-wife Ramya Raghupathi, claims she has been cheated all along by her husband (Naresh) and voices her need for justice. “As a woman, I’ll respect my husband but I’ll say he was an animal who couldn’t recognise the worth of his wife,” she says. Naresh even says there’s no point in romancing a woman with many health issues.

Parvathi requests the couple to pay heed to her child and not destroy her life. Later, Naresh and Pavitra trick Parvathi in front of the media and leave. It feels that Malli Pelli has been made for the wrong reasons, as if to avenge someone and cash in on a few notorious incidents. Will audiences, who didn’t mind the gossip around their off-screen relationship, watch it in theatres? Only time can confirm.

Aruldev’s background score is one of the major highlights of the teaser. Ananya Nagella, Roshan, Ravi Varma, Annapoorna, Bhadram, Yukta, Praveen Yandamuri, and Madhooo play other important roles in the film.
