DCP Raj Tilak Roshan of the Mumbai Police had previously submitted the deceased's body for a postmortem. He elaborated by saying that forensics and police teams are looking into the matter. Roshan stated that a team from their department is here, and they are conducting additional investigations. They are thoroughly investigating every possible angle. Both the forensics and their teams are present. They are removing the corpse for a necropsy and conducting a thorough investigation. Furthermore, an investigation is underway; at this stage, it appears to be a suicide.
Joyce Polycarp, the mother of Malaika and the wife of Anil Mehta, told the police that she had looked in the living room for his shoes the day of the incident but had been unable to find him anywhere in their flat. After discovering he wasn't there when she stepped out to the balcony, she began to worry that something was seriously wrong. These fears, alas, proved to be tragically correct.
