Makers of Venkat Prabhu's Manmatha Leelai reveal poster of Smruthi Venkat with Ashok Selvan

It was announced a while ago that Venkat Prabhu is directing Manmatha Leelai, a movie with Ashok Selvan in the lead, to be completed in a short span of time. The team had roped in three female leads, Smruthi Venkat, Samyukta Hegde and Riya Suman, as well for this bilingual flick which is billed as a rom-com.

A few days ago, the makers had revealed that the project will have a theatrical release on April 1. The director's last outing, Maanaadu (streaming on SonyLIV), starring Silambarasan in the lead, released only four months ago. Manmatha Leelai has bagged a A certificate from Censor Board, and the team had announced the same recently.

Now, they have unveiled a new poster featuring Smruthi and Ashok in it. It is expected that the team will release posters with Ashok and other two female leads, too, in the coming days. Premgi has composed music for the movie which has action choreography by Stunt Silva.

A 40-second glimpse from the movie was unveiled recently by Silambarasan which had Ashok and female leads seen in intense romantic mode, passionately kissing each other. This is the first time Venkat and Ashok are joining hands for a project.

Thamizh A Azhagan and Venkat Raajen have cranked the camera and edited the movie respectively, while Manivannan Balasubramaniam has written the screenplay and dialogues along with the director. T Muruganantham has bankrolled the movie under Rockfort Entertainment.

Ashok, who was last seen in Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal (streaming on aha Tamil), has Hostel and bilingual flick Nitham Oru Vaanam in his kitty. Venkat Prabhu, on the other hand, is reportedly planning to make a film with Naga Chaitanya, which will mark his debut in Tollywood.
