Makers of SK 20 make it official; Maria Ryaboshapka to play female lead in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer

Anudeep is directing the bilingual project which is made in Tamil and Telugu

The announcement of SK 20, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, was made a few months ago. The untitled film is being directed by Anudeep in Tamil and Telugu. This is the filmmaker's sophomore project; his debut flick, Jathi Ratnalu (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was a big hit in Telugu.

A while ago, the team had unveiled a video which had a few of its cast and crew members attending the opening day of the film's shooting which kicked off at Karaikudi. The movie is expected to be shot in London, Pondicherry and a few other locations, too.

Siva is said to be playing a tourist guide in SK 20 which will have two female leads. There have been unconfirmed reports about Ukranian actress Maria Ryaboshapka essaying one of the female leads in it. Now, the makers have officially announced it by releasing a picture of hers.

Suresh Productions, which is bankrolling the project along with Sree Venkateswara Cinemas and Shanthi Talkies, came up with the update with the tweet, "Delighted to welcome the gorgeous #MariaRyaboshapka onboard as the female lead in our #SK20 (sic)."

Thaman has been brought on board to compose music for the movie which has Premgi Amaren and Sathyaraj playing important roles in it. There is speculation doing the rounds that Premgi will be playing a character with grey shades, though a confirmation on the same is awaited from the makers. 

Maria Ryaboshapka had earlier acted in a notable role in Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar). Fans of Sivakarthikeyan are now waiting to get an update on the movie's second female lead. Venkat Prabhu is said to be associating with the film's Tamil version as a script consultant.
